Rainy Days and Tuesdays Always Get Me Down
In the words of the miraculous, gone-before-her-time Karen Carpenter, “Hangin’ around, nothing to do but frown. Rainy days and Mondays always get me down.”
But it’s Tuesday.
And it’s like this torrential, thunderous rain has some magical power to put everyone in a slump for some reason. The ability to wreak havoc on our normally moisture-free environment.
Now, me? I love the rain and all that dank, dark weather. Always have. My mother used to freak out when I would close up all the blinds in the house and sit around like I was in some cave or tunnel or something. I am not a bright-light-in-your-eyes kind of person, so rainy days offer me just the right amount of haziness, cloudiness to make me feel all cozy and loved and romantic (as my friend Jessica so aptly put it on Facebook earlier today).
But, that’s just me. Everyone else has been a mess today. Morose. Cranky. Tantrum-y. Sullen. Fever-y. Snippy. Snappy. Sad.
Even poor little Murray.
Cheer up, little man, maybe tomorrow you can galavant in the sticky mud and then come inside and smear it all over our down comforter. Will that cheer you up? Whose my buddy?

Cheer up, Murray! It could be worse. Your “brother,” Parker, could be there to play with you.
Ahh Burden, we are of the same mind when it comes to “crappy” weather. I envy your geographical position right now because you are getting rain while here in Irvine, we’re getting sprinkles. If that. Enjoy the torrential down pour for me!
Seems like we got an earthquake tonight to add to our storm from today! Enjoy your sunshiny weather down in Irvine! I remember that town well!
