The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread

Sliced Bread

Dude.  Two things I love:  bread and my new Nikon D5000 SLR Digital camera that I’ve written about here.  Jack thinks I’m crazy, but I found the “food” setting on the camera, and now I’m obssessed with taking pictures of everything we eat…even the leftover slices of bread on the cutting board.  I love that “bokeh” effect of the little corn meal crumbs on the wooden board, and even better is how the foreground of corn meal and crust is so sharp and crisp in contrast to the subway tiles of the backsplash and the fuzzy shadow from the bread.  Of course, just the camera setting alone wasn’t enough to achieve such delicious looking food porn.

Tomorrow on Dear Daughters…:  photos of Sherman, our dog, lapping up the regurgitated breast milk our newborn just spit up on the kitchen floor.

The bread looks delicious. I made a big pot of vegetable soup today. It sure would go great with that.
